On June 6th was Rome’s Diamond League. In top weather conditions, eight World leads, twelve European leads and two meet records were established.

Highlights from Rome!

In the men’s 200m, not only did Michael NORMAN ran his new PB, he also established a world lead and a meet record of 19.70. Noah LYLES clocked in 19.72, finishing second. 
Donavon BRAZIER, in the 800m, also set a new World Lead. He edged Nijel AMOS by 0.02, passing the finish line in 1:43.63. 
Tilahun HAILE BEKELE was impressive. He clocked the 5000m in 12:52.98 with a 54.7 last lap and set a new World Lead. In second place was Selemon BAREGA with a time of 12:53.04. 
In the women’s 100m dash, Elaine THOMPSON ran her best since August 2017, with a very fast time of 10.89 and a new World Lead. In second, with 10.94, Dina ASHER-SMITH set a European Lead with 10.94.
