Yelena Isinbaeva will compete in the Herculis Samsung Diamond League meeting on 20 July 2012 for what will beher last meeting before the Olympic Games.
The current World record holder and Olympic champion, the Russian superstar will make Herculis Monaco the privilege of her only appearance on the Samsung Diamond League circuit.
In 2008, Isinbaeva set a 5.04m World record in Monaco just before the winning the Olympic gold medal and setting yet another World record in Beijing. Isinbaeva will most certainly have the same mindset when she makes her come back to the Louis II stadium.
After setting a new World indoor record at 5.01m this winter and conquering a World Indoor title, Isinbaeva has decided to compete in the Principality of Monaco, a place she knows very well as she regularly trains at the Louis II stadium where the conditions fit her really well: “I am looking forward to competing at the Monaco Herculis Samsung Diamond League Meeting. For me this is one of the very best competitions on the circuit and really wanted to come back and compete here this summer. The fans and the atmosphere are great so I look forward to do my best here in July”.
After announcing Usain Bolt a few weeks ago, organizers are proud to welcome two of the greatest athletes in the world.
