Wayde VAN NIEKERK will be competing on men’s 400m. Last August, he finished first of the 2015 IAAF World Championships with a time of 43.48, establishing Africa’s record and becoming the 4th best performer on the distance.
Asbel KIPROP also confirmed his presence on 1500m. He will attempt to beat his own meeting record which he set last year. After a solo race, Kiprop threatened the World record with a time of 3:26.69 – less than a second from the World record, Kiprop became the third-fastest 1500m runner in history.
Derek DROUIN will also come to Monaco for high jump. He is the current Canadian record-holder and World Champion.
A triple winner of the Diamond Trophy, Piotr MALACHOWSKI in men’s discus, has already established a comfortable lead in the Diamond League competition and will attempt to confirm his ease on Monaco’s field.
