On July 17th 2015, the world record holder and Olympic Champion Renaud LAVILLENIE will be at Louis II Stadium for the 4th time of his career, and his three last performances speak for themselves:
Victory in 2009 with 5.88m, victory in 2011 with 5.90m, and finally his third victory in 2013 with a new Diamond League Record with 5.96m.
The 2014 edition of HERCULIS was exceptional where a junior world record, 3 area records and 11 national records were established, as well as 2 Diamond League records, 4 meeting records and 7 world leading performances of the year; HERCULIS is expecting again wonderful performances, and Renaud LAVILLENIE, IAAF Athlete of the year 2014 will come to Monaco with this goal in mind.
Several heights would make him let even a bigger mark in the history of our sport:
- 6.00m, Herculis meeting record Herculis established by Maxim TARASOV in 1999.
- 6.01m, Louis II Stadium record established by Timothy MACK in 2004.
- 6.02m, current Diamond League record, established by Renaud in London in 2013.
- And of course 6.16m, current World record, established last year by himself.
Feeling like at home Louis II Stadium where he comes every year for a training camp with the French Team, Renaud gives us a few words about the meeting Herculis:
« I am really to come back to Monaco in 2015, after spending 3 wonderful editions and being able to jump higher and higher every time. I will do my best to win of course, but the target will be to jump 6m in Monaco and get these records (meeting and stadium) to bring them back to France. »
Renaud LAVILLENIE will be joining you at Louis II Stadium on July 17th 2015 for what should be another amazing night of athletics.
