Monaco has always been kind to Jimmy Gressier. For his first time in the Principality, in February 2020, he broke the European record in the 5km road race. The second time, in August 2020, he beat his personal best in the 5000m by 7 seconds. This year, Jimmy will compete in the 3,000m and will work on his speed ahead of the European Championships.
Monaco will also see two new faces of French athletics, who won titles at the French Elite Championships. Benjamin Robert, imperial during his victory at the Meeting de Paris, will run a 1,000m race set up for him. The other talent, Sasha Zhoya, will run for the first time on the track of Pascal Martinot-Lagarde’s National Record.
Chevrier and Séri, the locals for a first diamond league appearance
Margot Chevrier, a native of Nice, will be competing in her first Wanda Diamond League in Monaco. The French leader of the season with 4m70 will face a great opposition in Monaco and to try to improve her personal best. In the 400m hurdles, Camille Séri will try to confirm her new standing, a few days before flying to her first European senior championships.
