On this occasion, DIBABA will be on running the 3000m, in an attempt to add a third meeting record to her palmares (The meeting record was set by Gabriela SZABO with 8: 21.42 in July 19th, 2002, and which is still the current European record).
With a personal best and African record of 8:16.60 established at the indoor meeting in Stockholm in 2014, DIBABA will have all the cards in hand to write her name once again in the history of Herculis.
Indeed, everyone still has in mind the 5000m in 2014 where she established a new world lead and a meeting record of 14:28.88, but especially her victory last year in the 1500m in 3:50.07 that has not only allowed her to set off the previous meeting record which was 3:56.97 by SZABO in 1998, but above all to establish a new world record, erasing the previous one of 3: 50.48 which was 23 years old.
And to not forget any information, the world record of the 3000m in 8:06.11 was set in 1993.
As one of the last meetings before the Olympics in Rio in August, Herculis Monaco will offer the athletes a final opportunity to tune their settings, offering to the loyal and numerous spectators an undoubtedly breathtaking show !
