Monaco Herculis will take place in a few weeks. Following the announcement of last week's athletes, others have confirmed their participation on the track of the Stade Louis II!
Men Long Jump : The past weekend, Greg Rutherford dominated the field in Birmingham for the Aviva 2012 Trials, claiming first place with a best jump of 8.12m, he sealed his spot for London !!! Rutherford jointly owns the national record of 8.35m with Chris Tomlinson. He will be joining us in Monaco the 20th July!! Who knows maybe he will set his own national record here in the Stade Louis II !!
Men High Jump : Robbie Grabarz started this year with a personal best in the indoor season of 2.34metres in January, which took him to No4 in the world!! For the Samsung Diamond League in Rome, he did a world leading outdoor jump of 2.33m and in New York comes in second and jumps his personal best performance of the year with 2,36. Robbie Grabarz has booked his place in Team GB's Olympic athletics squad after winning his event at the National Championships.
Men Javline Throw: Vitezslav Vesely, had his second best ever throw at the Shanghai 2012 Diamond League meet, winning with a mark of 85.40 m. The Czech javelin thrower, produced a big personal best and world-leading throw of 88.11m at the Samsung Diamond League in Oslo. This week in Helsinki, he won the European Championships with 83.72m. Great seaon for Vesely !!! His big rival Andreas Thorkildsen, European champion, World champion and double Olympic champion will be coming as well to Monaco. This year Andreas Thorkildsen wins the men's javelin throw event at the IAAF World Challenge Golden Spike Meeting in Ostrava with 84.72m, his annual best performance.
Women Discuss Throw :Sandra Perkovic, won the discus throw gold medal at the 2010 European Championships, in her first year of senior competition, she became the youngest European discus champion. This year again she wins the European Championship in Helsinki with 67.62m. She won the Shanghai Diamond League with a national record 68.24m. Two time Diamond League Meeting Winner and unbeaten this season!! She will be coming to Monaco to try to win the 9th stop of the Samsung Diamond League and have a third consecutive win in the league!!!
Women Pole Vault :Monika Pyrek two time silver medalist in the World Championship (2005,2009). This year in the Samsung Diamond League in New York, she did her season's best performance with 4.50 meters. Monika Pyrek will come to the Monaco Herculis Meeting along with Martina Strutz !!! Martina Strutz, World Champion silver medalist in Daegu. She jumped her personal best with 4.80m, which is the current German National record !!
Men’s 1500m The nation's top 1,500 meter runner in 2011, after claiming national titles at the USA Track & Field Championships and winning a bronze medal at the 2011 World Championships in Daegu.Matthew Centrowitz did his personal best performance last year at the Herculis Meeting in Monaco with 3.34.46. This year he is back and maybe he will beat his personal best performance!!!
Women’s 800m : Alysia Montano ran her season's best time at the Samsung Diamond League meet in Eugene with 1:57.37, ranks second in the world this year in the event. She won the 800 meters with a time of 1:59.08 at the US Olympic Track and Field Trials, she nails her spot to the London Olympics and will try to achieve her goal!!!!

Men’s 800m : Andrew Osagie, the world indoor 800 metres bronze medallist, is currently the Uk’s 800m Champion. He won the men’s final yesterday at the Olympic British Trials 2012 and qualified for the Olympics
Men’s 400m :Martyn Rooney, Britain's number one 400 metre runner won in 2008 the Monaco Herculis Meeting. Last Saturday he secured his spot for the London Olympics in the men's 400m, after finishing 45.93 in the final of the Aviva UK Athletics Olympic trials 2012.
Women’s 400m hurdles : Kaliese Spencer won the women's 400m hurdle event during the Samsung Diamond League Meeting in Rome with 54.39. She finished second at the Adidas Diamond League in New york with 54.91. Qualified for the Olympics with 55.04 at the Jamaican Trials.
Zuzana Hejmova won the 400 metres hurdles at European Team Championship with new national record of 53.87 seconds. In July 2011 she improved her national record to 53.29 seconds. Zuzana Hejnova was two time Diamond League Meeting Winner!!! Lets hope for a third Win this year !!
Women’s 100m :Shelly-Ann Fraser is the reigning Olympic champion over 100m, clocking a time of 10.78. Last week, Fraser set a new National Record and World Lead of 10.70 seconds, while winning the women’s 100m title at the JAAA/Supreme Ventures National Championships. She became the fourth fastest women in history over 100m!! She will be running the 100m at the Herculis Meeting in Monaco along with Murielle Ahoure, which sets a National Record in 100m with 11.00 seconds in Rome in the Samsung Diamond League.
