Usain Bolt will return to Monaco where he will run a 200m race at the Herculis Samsung Diamond League meeting on 20 July 2012.
After last year success in the Principality, Bolt is eager to come back to Monaco for what will be his last race before the Jamaican superstar competes to defend his sprint titles at the London Olympic Games.
The current World and Olympic Champion, as well as World Record holder for 100 and 200m, Bolt is scheduled to line-up in his favourite event at the Herculis meeting, where he will compete alongside many of the greatest athletes of the 2012 Samsung Diamond League.
After winning in Monaco last year in a thrilling final, Bolt went on to the IAAF World Championships in Daegu where he defended his World Championships title at 200m in an amazing time of 19.40 and later added another gold and world record in the 4x100m relay.
The Herculis meeting record of 19.72 set by Tyson Gay in 2010 may be in danger from the 26-year-old Jamaican who has recorded nine sub 19.70 secs times for the 200m in his career.
“Monaco will be my last race before the Olympics and I am looking forward to putting on a great show for the fans. It is going to be my second time racing in Monaco. I love the city and the weather is always good.”
Once again, organizers expect a huge crowd to welcome back the champion after the 2011 edition of Herculis was ranked best meeting in the world (according to All-Athletics ranking).
